Guidelines and Expectations for the Academy


The Handbook

Please see the Handbook for the full details of the Academy.  Below is a brief overview of expectations from the Handbook.  The Handbook Acknowledgement must be signed by student and parent to be a member of the Academy.

Academic Overview

If a student does not pass during a six weeks, the student will receive a success plan established by teachers, specialist and students. If the student does not receive credit for the semester due to grades or attendance, the student will be dismissed from the academy and if a transfer student, will return to their home campus.

Behavior Overview

If a student receives a consequence due to a behavior issue such as ISS, the student will be placed on behavioral probation for the semester.  If the student receives a consequence during that time, the student will be dismissed from the Academy.  A severe consequence such as suspension or alternative placement will result in immediate dismissal from the Academy.

Expectation

Students' schedules should have a minimum of four Academy sections.  Students are recommended to have at least one weighted course (Pre-AP, AP or Dual Credit).
